At a secondary school there is no longer the opportunity to meet other parents at the school gate and to exchange ideas and news. We believe that this is a valuable part of school life and one we all enjoyed at primary school.
To maintain this network and provide opportunities for parents to get together, Shene School PTA organises social and fundraising events throughout the year.
During the Autumn 2009 term we staged a Car Boot Sale on Sunday 11th October, and on Thursday 11th February we held the PTA Shene School Quiz at the school.
The PTA is a vital part of the life of the school and every parent automatically becomes a member when their child joins the school. This doesn’t mean that you have to take an active part in the PTA work, but we think you will enjoy it if you do.
Twice a term there is an informal meeting to get together with members of staff and the Head teacher Lesley Kirby to discuss school life and to plan events.
