Welcome to the Inclusion Faculty
September 2008 has seen the creation of the new Inclusion Faculty at Shene School. The Inclusion Faculty aims to provide support for all pupils who have Additional Educational Needs – whether in relation to learning or behaviour, temporary or long-term.
As stated in the AEN Policy:
“The Governing Body believes that all children, regardless of ability and behaviour, are valued equally at Shene School. Children with additional educational needs are not viewed as a separate entity but as part of the whole approach, and different children’s needs are recognised and met through varied flexible provision throughout the curriculum.”
Support on offer ranges from: in-class assistance; withdrawal from class for 1:1 or small group booster sessions; Successmaker programme; social skills, emotional intelligence or self-esteem workshops; breaktime or lunchtime clubs. We can also make referrals to and seek advice from a large number of external agencies who work to provide the best possible support for children and young people.
