What is e-Learning?
e-Learning can be used to deliver online courses and/or establish online learning communities. It supports flexible learning anywhere, anytime for anyone. Web-based training (e-Learning) allows instructors to update lessons and materials while CD-ROM based training caters for people who don’t have internet access. These two e-Learning delivery methods provide students with interactive, cost-effective training.
ICT Vision Statement
“enriching education to enhance the future”
Our vision is to enrich the learning experience of our pupils with ICT. This includes new ways of working which allows anywhere, anytime safe access to high quality resources where young people take control over their own learning.
Our staff will have the knowledge and confidence to personalise learning. Parents and the community will be better informed and more involved. In this way we will enhance the future of our pupils in the 21st century.
To achieve this we will:
-
Ensure a robust high speed network supporting a wide range of learning and management information tools
-
Develop an e-confident staff through CPD
-
Assure anytime anywhere access through a Managed Learning Environment (MLE) which will also be a major tool for personalised learning
-
Create Learning and Teaching resources of the highest quality which meet the needs of our pupils
-
Align ICT Strategy to improve student outcomes with the priority of raising standards
-
Ensure Inclusive access to all technologies
-
Support and development of a learning community, including primary schools, collaborations with other schools and community organisations
-
Ensure e-safety is at the heart of all what we do using ICT
-
Encourage students to make active contributions to the school ethos through the use of ICT
